SUBARU SSM-III Software Function:

1. All System Diagnosis. Selecting this item displays on a single screen the fault detect status of all control system control modules for which SSMΙΙΙ diagnosis is supported, and memorized diagnostic codes.
2. Each System Check. Selecting this item makes it possible to select a particular system from among the control systems forwhich SSMΙΙΙ diagnosis is supported, and perform fault diagnosis. 
3. This item can be used to view input/output data of the system control modules that perform fault diagnosis, memorized diagnostic codes, and other data on the PC display. This menu item is also used after repair work is complete to delete diagnostic codes, to configure control module settings, etc.
4. Saved Data Display. This item can be used to save various data sampled during fault diagnosis operations, and to load data for viewing after work is complete.
5.  Immobilizer. This item performs immobilizer registration.
6. Reprogram. This item performs reprogramming of the control module.
7. Read CF application measurement data. This item performs reading stand alone measurement data saved in a CF card to hard disk of your PC.
8. Convert/Save measurement data on driving recorder. Loads data sampled on the driving recorder to the PC from the CF card, and converts and saves that data.
9. Oscilloscope. After attaching the optional pulse/analog cartridge to SDI, connect the pulse/analog box to the SDI and using pulse/analog probe to perform analog sampling.

VCX SE SUBARU INTERFACE REVIEWS:

1.I was able to get the Subaru Select Monitor III software with the VXDiag tool to clear the Transmission diagnostic memories and complete the relearn on the CVT.

2., 1 thing first i can honestly say that it’s much faster, a way faster then my old one.With Odis or different software it works like a charm. Unfortunately there is but, I hoped that i will be able to do full systems scans at ones in SSM 3 ” All system diagnostic ” but it doesn’t work with this new tool like it didn’t with old one 

3.Used on my 05 Legacy GT with SSM3
Worked as expected. Need to be somewhat technical to setup ssm3/4.
Also paired Used ecu on a 2016 forester for a friend. Worked great. Worth the $ since dealer charges about the same to do the work.
To do full new keys you need to have brand new unregistered keys. 

4.I have the VCX SE Subaru Works fine with the SSMIII software included although there’s limited modules you can access on my 2004 FSTI (it’s K-Line which is pre-canbus), i’ve added transponders to the immobiliser and general engine ECU logging and fault clearing. Should be a much more useful tool on the later full canbus cars.
