- This XTOOL IP508 tool is Perfect tool for “advanced” DIY works!, It comes really helpful when diagnosing problems, It’s been a month since I got it and I already feel like it’s paying back, I was able to address some issues in my car, from bad ignition coils, coolant temperature sensor and O2 sensors, you can also watch live data that can become very helpful on the right hands (you know, for people that actually know how to interpret the information and conduct a proper diagnosis) I’m pretty sure I’ll learn a lot with this tool, it also keep itself updated you let the device download the available updates and you’ll be sure you’re always getting new functions for different car brands and models. This device has so much functions and different ways to approach and conduct your own analysis on your car that it’s almost impossible to put everything together in this review, I just can assure you that you won’t be disappointed, just give it a try and TRY it’s matters of going through the learning curve (for the first timers using this tyoe of OBD scanner). I also strongly suggest to buy the carrying case, it’s worth!. I have had tried it on 2016 VW, 2003 Toyota, Newer and 2000’s Ford cars and works great on all of them.
- I have three other basic OBD2 scanners but this XTOOL INPLUS IP508 is the best of all of them. It does much more than just say that there are no codes in the vehicle computer. It checks all of the relays and lets the user know if there are any faults or codes present in the computer. The other scanners won’t automatically let me know what the vin is on my 2015 Hyundai Tucson 2.0 diesel but with this scanner all you have to do is program the vin into the scanner and all information about the vehicle are shown. It shows the vin information automatically on my 2018 Ford Ranger Wildtrak 2.2 diesel and it scans everything including the horn relay. This is a very good scanner for the price and I recommend it for the d.i.y. mechanic.
- This is a very good product. It is easy to use and automatically populates vin# and tryp off car. The wifi is a nice touch it allows me to send reports directly to my phone. Very well built.
