VAG ODIS Errors Solution

ODIS (Offboard Diagnostic Information System) is a diagnostic software used primarily by Volkswagen Group dealerships and authorized service centers to diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles from brands like Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda, SEAT, and others. It allows technicians to perform various functions, including reading diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), performing guided fault finding, flashing control units, adapting components, and accessing vehicle-specific repair information. ODIS essentially connects to the vehicle’s onboard computer systems to identify and resolve issues.

This Post help you fix some erros when use ODIS-S and ODIS-E programmer.

1.When runing ODIS-S 23,it says “License expired. Please update VCI”.i am use Vcx SE 6154A interface
Solution : Update VW license in VXDIAG vx manager.

2.Failed to install ODIS service 23.0.1 displayed an error “a software component has been detected. The current installation will be removed”.

Solution:Uninstall odis 23 software completely（You can use this ODIS CleanUp tool make clean before new installation）. Then install software again(advise clean Windows 10 and better not together with others diagnosticc programs).Some guys says Home Edition Windows not working.

3.I tried install ODIS-S 25 on Win11 ,everything is finished with postsetup files load ,and when i run it under ADMIN,it says “The computer must be restarted to update the application,Please restart”, i followed and restart,but it still get same errors.

I got it working. Even though the anti-virus was turned off,and then i configure the exclusions (both folder and .exe file) in the windows security section. You can disable both Antivirus and Windows Defender programmer.

4.ODSS1003 Error Connection on ODIS-S 24.1.1:
This error typically occurs when the device is not connected to the internet, causing the program to crash or display a “Connect to Server” prompt.

Below is the solution:Locate the config.ini file at:C:\ProgramData\OS\configuration\config.ini,Open the file in a text editor (run as administrator).
Find the line (around line 171):de.volkswagen.odis.vaudas.infoservices.grp.add_grp_id_token_to_header=true
Change it with:
de.volkswagen.odis.vaudas.business.diag_start.skip_login=true
Save the file and restart ODIS.

After applying this change, the ODS1003E error may still appear when there’s no Internet but the program will not terminate. Diagnostic functions, such as reading Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs), continue to work.

5.ODIS OffboardDiagLauncher 0.803.164(Error handing the License,the License is invalid)

You did not patch files correct,Copy files from “plugins‘’to “Program files-OS-plugins”(replace all),and copy “OffboardDiagLauncher.exe” to Program files-OS

6.When you want to add languages or update postsetup files ,it required you new install again,How to Update Postsetup without reinstall ODIS?

Display hidden files and folders ,and located this file and edit it by Editor,C:\ProgramData\OS\configuration\.settings\org.eclipse.internal.prefs
Line VAUDAS_PostSetup_Done=false,change vaule to VAUDAS_PostSetup_Done=true,after save it .Then run ODIS it will ask you select Postsetup again .it same work for ODIS-E

7.ODIS-S 25.03 ODS1003E error Offline not working (when no Network connection)

Find out file C:\ProgramData\OS\configuration\config.ini and edit
“de.volkswagen.odis.vaudas.infoservices.grp.add_gr p_id_token_to_header=true”

To
“de.volkswagen.odis.vaudas.business.diag_start.ski p_login=true”

8.ODS8011E error :

ODS8011E error is due to wrong Vehicle project selection.not using correct project/communication protocol for the car.you have to figure out correct protocol for your car. for example Bentley Flying Spur 2015, it is”Chassis Type: ZA-BY62 (3W0)” , so in ODIS engineering i select BY62x protocol and connect to the car and all modules without issue.

9.ODS9013E Error :

This is warn message you to update postsetup,You can ingore it and cancel .IF you want bypass this message ,Edit the file as this way:
C:\ProgramData\OS\configuration\.settings\org.eclipse.internal.prefs
VAUDAS_Day_Of_Last_Update=17xxxxxxxxxxxx ,Rewrite to 18xxxxxxxxxxxx and save.

This is the timestamp of the last update. Odis-S will not display an update window at startup. For ODIS-Engineering, OS is OE instead.
